Spring Creek

I might be heading up to Spring Creek tomorrow and i was just wondering how the fishing is right now? Tricos coming off yet? Any flies hot right now?

Spring Creek in Centre county, near State College

I fished Spring Creek on Sunday AM, July 1st. No tricos as of that date. Fishing was slow, with a few caddis and blue quills in evidence. Trout were sporadically feeding on midges. I suspect ants and other terrestrials would be productive. Good luck.

If you want to catch fish, and are not a dry fly only guy, tie on a size 12 black ant and put a small split shot about 4" above it and fish it wet. That just about always works up there. Good Luck. Keith
