can anyone recomend what size spey rod for eastern PA?

thanks

What do you want to use the rod for?

What spey rod to choose depends on what you are fishing for, size of the water you mostly intend to fish and which style of casting you intend to use.

Personally I use the underhand/scandi casting style. I use a Rainshadow 11'6" 6/7 and a Echo Classic 12'6" 6/7 for bass, pike, and larger fish. I also use it for two handed overhead cast and surf fishing with a line designed for that purpose.

Also don't over look the possiblity of a switch rod. Many of the small rivers and streams in PA can be covered efficently with switch rods.

I also use two switch rods. One that is a 11'3" 5/6 and one a 10'6" 6/7/8 wt line rod. Switch rods are design as long one handed rods with a lower grip in order to put a second hand on the rod as desired.

Rainshadow makes some good rod blank kits if you biuld your own. Also Beulah Rods is another favorite company to me and well worth a look. TFO Deer Creek, Wild Water River Run and Echo also make some good rods.

Hope info this help.
