Went to a small stream for a couple of hours today with my daughter to hike, cool off in the water and we decided to bring a rod along just in case. Although it was quite soupy, was bearable wet wading in the creek. Took turns with the rod and of course, the fish whisperer brings the only trout to hand. Nice 7" brownie with awesome coloration, especially on the adipose fin which was bright red. Wet hands, got a couple pics and released him gently into the flow. Had another customer who gave us 4 chances jetting out from under a great lie but alas we weren't worthy. Great little adventure out for the younger wild trout specialist and for me as well. These unexpected successes are what make spur of the moment adventures so great! Live long the green weenie!

A closer pic of this beautiful brown:

Very, very cool. As the dad of a two year old little girl (she loves to play with the practice caster), I truly hope I am fortunate enough to have an experience like that one day.

You can man! Get one of those Kelty kid carriers and tote her around on hikes and short fishing adventures if you can. By the time shes 4 or 5, she'll be asking you to go on adventures.
