Looking for raccoon dubbing or even a skin, short of the auction site.

Roadkill ....... make that fresh roadkill.

The state stocks a lot of racoons. If they have not all been caught now by bait anglers, I would suggest and trying to garner one. I hear they like brook trout.

Trust me I've considered that option. The only one I've seen recently was blown up like a balloon with his legs straight out. I'm just not brave enough.....

^^ gfen you're a.... but that's funny.

look for a pelt dealer in your area. i went to a general sportsman's show this spring and yeah i'll prob buy most of my animal hair form a guy i met that day. the day before i paid $4 for a 2"x2" square of raccoon belly hair, while the guy at that show had whole tanned hides for $15. heck i picked up a coyote tail for $7 and have barely used the tip lol.

actually thought about starting a tying material site just from what i paid vs what i cold pay...
