Hi guys, I'm going to take my kids to ski. I cannot due to recent injury and healing. I think I can carefully fish some. Looking for any suggestions for this time of year near Camelback within 30 minuets I guess. I love some stream and such, looking forward to it....Closer better, but whatever. I might be able to fish very briefly or a couple hours, who knows, but it will be nice to do so. It's been awhile.

I'm not a skier. Is Camelback in the Poconos? If so, you might peruse some of the stream reports. Use Advanced Search and search Pike or Monroe counties.

My guess would be that, if you are going out there anytime soon, that pickings are likely pretty slim. Many mountain freestone streams are locked in ice and you might need snowshoes to navigate many PA mountain streams in current conditions. There are places that are fishable, but conditions are tough.

What Dave said. Also have a look at the Arcgic trout maps. Theres a handful of wild streams and some stocked waters (closed to fishing btw) to be had. but be prepared to work for it.

Good stuff. Gonna have to hear the words stage 4 before I do that again. Good on you for hitting that!

McMichael's has a DHALO section that's open year round not that far away from Camelback.

Thank you guys. It's wishful thinking more than anything, but still was worth a shot.

Pocono Ck runs right by Camelback, but the 2/15 closing plus reduction of open water in the area limits access (plus stream likely frozen) Used to fish behind Crossroads Mall.

Seems like you have 2 options for year round trout; McMichaels to the south and the Lackawanna to the north. Winter hotspot on Lackawanna was near sewer plant just up from rte 81 bridge, but it's outside the special regs area so I'm not sure of if it is open. Lackawanna has some huge wild browns, but the setting is less than pristine.

Big issue may be parking. Both streams have plenty of parkland and places to park, I am not sure whether they are plowed or not. This year that matters a lot.
