Here is a post from Louis at Gink & Gasoline discussing Smith Optics Glasses.

My take away from it is that I still want to tryout a pair of "Low Light Ignitor" glasses that allow 40% light transmission. The best or most useful styles of glasses never seem to be in stock at fly shops...

Does anyone have these "Low Light Ignitor" glasses? At one time I read something that implied their was a Smith option for a "clear" polarized lens...has anyone seen such a mythical lens?

yo N_S - thanks for your link. Very informative, indeed. As for clear polarization, I guess the process to create polarization doesn't necessarily mandate a colored lens. For practicality in sunglasses, a maker may not want to market a sunglass that doesn't filter out some light and UV. But technologically, it would be possible to have clear polarizers. Perhaps PCray could weigh in on this?

I had the old native glasses before they were bought out. It came with clear Amber yellow and tinted lenses. Never got to try the clear someone stepped on em. So yes

I have native with exchangeable lenses...only the brown are polarized
