I have a 7.5 4/5 wt Kunan fly rod.Would it make a good small stream rod. should i go 4 wt or 5 wt for small streams. Thank's

Nope, I think you're looking good with that size rod. If the one you have acts anything like the 4/5 wt I had you have a little of both weights in that one. Take er out fishing...

Thank's . I learned on that rod. I'll get another 4 wt for her.

FWIW I like a shorter and lighter rod for small streams but that is probably just personal preference.

You may want to stick with the heavier weight only so that the rod loads easier with the short casts you make on small streams.

Thank's Good point.

That rod is perfect, line it with a 5 wt line to load the rod with very little line out of the tip.

FWIW, my most used brookie rod is 7.5 ft 4/5 wt, and it's on the fast side. I load it with 5 wt line for more open small streams, and 7 wt line for the thickest places.

I did have a 4 wt spool for larger water, and it worked fine, but I typically just don't use that rod on bigger water, so I got rid of the 4 wt line.

Thank's all. 5 wt it is. I'll let you all know how it works.
