Recently visited Slate and did some exploring on lower end. Was low but apparently a recent rain had it in half decent shape. Did not see a fish. The bottom appeared scoured and lifeless. The last time I was there in June or July it was same. These were pools that definitely held fish in May. I talked with a frequent hiker and they said there was apparently a heavy flooding event at some point and there have not been many fish in that lower end for some time. It used to be a productive section for me this time of year. Wondering if anyone here has any input?
