All:

Every once in a while, a user will make a post sharing a link to an interesting or informative site, but the url expression is so excessively long that it causes the message body to be so wide that readers of the message and even subsequent messages in the same thread are required to scroll left and right to read the text.

The easiest way to avoid this is to use the "LINK" or "URL" tool that appears above the message entry window. When you do, you can post the long url when prompted, then provide an appropriately descriptive, but much shorter name for the link.

The photos attached should help you use this feature. The first attachment shows the tool's location. Once you touch it, you will get something similar to the second attachment. This is where you can paste the web link url. Finally, something that looks like the last attachment will appear where you can supply the shortened name.

You will be doing everyone a big favor to use this tool when posting excessively long links.

Thanks, jack. I wondered how you guys did that... I have been using that tinyurl thing you showed us a year or so ago...
