Schuylkill R: The YOY SMB catch was 1.7 YOY per 50 m. site, with ten locations comprised of six 50 m. sites each being sampled from Bridgeport, Montgomery Co to Port Clinton, Schuylkill Co. This was approximately 33- 45% of the average catch rate, depending upon which longer-term (or shorter term) averages was selected. YOY SMB abundance was good at Bridgeport, which is the most downstream sampling location. Low numbers or no YOY SMB continued to be seen at Spring City, Chester Co, and Valley Forge, Montgomery Co., which are the next two locations upstream from Bridgeport and represent over 20 miles of river. This has been consistent for the four years that these two specific locations have been sampled and that stretch is a large part of the stretch where habitat degradation through sedimentation has been the worst. YOY abundance was best from just below Reading to Port Clinton.

Delaware River – lower - Yardley, Bucks Co. to Raubsville, Northampton Co: The YOY SMB catch was 1.4 YOY per 50 m. site. This was approximately 27% of the long term average catch rate and represented the third substantially below average catch rate in the past five years, all resulting from high flows during or immediately after spawning. Noteworthy was an exceptionally large largemouth bass year class at Point Pleasant in 2013.
