Schuylkill County Water Conditions

Hey guys,

I have been looking for new places to explore closer to home around SE PA. Has anyone fished the Little Schuylkill lately or surrounding area? Wasn't sure how the water temps were up that way, flows seemed a little bit higher than usual on the USGS gauge.

When in doubt as a general area you’ll find cold water between Tamaqua and Rt 54. Always cold enough in my experiences. Downstream from South Tamaqua the temps can vary quite a lot. The DH area gets quite warm as does the 1 mile stocked section above the mouth, but under higher flows, these areas could be ok yet. From South Tamaqua to somewhere between the DH Area and Drehersville it’s a transitional stream. Below there it is a warmwater stream. Take a thermometer.
