Sage Sonic?

ANyone had a chance to cast a Sage Sonic? I would like to compare it to the new Recon 2.

I'd like to see if Sage has started making $550 fly rods today as good as their $550 fly rods from 20 years ago.

I've had my 5wt Sonic since March. It's been my go-to for everything. Casts dries, streamers, and nymph rigs no problem. My previous rod was 20ish years old and the Sonic is a dream compared to that one.

If I had to find something to complain about it would be the reel lock. There's only one ring and it tends to loosen throughout the day. That said, I've never come close to dropping the reel in the river.

No, that's good. It's all I can ask of anyone. Sage has made some sub-standard rods that made me say "whaaaaaa????" over the past years. For the price, not great competition for Orvis, Scott and G. Loomis., especially at the less-than-premium level.
