If you ever do a redesign, you might try to find a way to reduce the amount of space between the top of the page and the list of general forum topics.
And maybe find a way to make the list of posts more compact. The overall goal being to make more listings visible when you open the page.
The actual forum topics, starting with the general forum, is what most regular users are going for. I'm using a 15 inch laptop, and when the page opens, none of the topics in the general forum are visible without scrolling down.
For example, I use Yahoo Mail, and when you open that page, there is some introductory material at the top, but there are also 19 email mails visible. The space used by introductory material is narrower, and the listings are compact, yet still big enough to be easy to read.
