I'm looking for a relatively cheap smallie rod. I have heard from one friend that the Redington Crosswater 6 wt is a decent rod for little money. My preferred rod action is medium-fast skewed more toward fast than medium.

Does anybody happen to own one? Are they decent? I'm looking for all opinions.

Thanks as always for your input.

My 1st rod was a Reddington CW. I test-casted it alongside a Cabela's Three Forks rod, and I liked how it felt a little bit more than the Three Forks.

The CW has a 1-yr warranty covering mfg. defects only. I ended up breaking my CW by my own fault, and I ended up buying a TFO Pro, which I like alot.

I think both rods are advertised as being medium-fast, but the CW was closer to the medium side, while the TFO is closer to the fast side; IMHO.

Hope this helps.

Thanks gf, that does help. Your are right. I went to Gander Mountain last night to feel the CW rod. It seemed a bit too soft for me.
I'll have to check out the TFO Pro.
I heard the Cortland Pro Cast has a very good blank also.

GG you could always go with something like this:RS3 on Ebay

Also check out an Echo Solo. Pretty decent rod in a med/fast action for 99 bills.
