Question about posting notifications

I changed my preferences and now get updates when new posts have been made. Sometimes, I get a message and when I click the link, it says I don't have access to that post.

Mods or seasoned members, what exactly does this mean?

This should be working just fine. It may depend on the post. We have had to do a lot of moderating lately. There have been changes to several posts and topics. Many have been deleted or moved.

When did you change your preferences? Was it to a particular topic?

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the reply and the notification where my post was moved. I guess that might be the scenario, the post gets deleted, edited or moved. I belive I'm getting notifications on any new post.

Is there a way to get an update to specific threads only or is it a global setting?

My view is sometimes different, but at the bottom of the forum pages you can set some of the settings. When you start at the forum it begins with Global it should be at the very bottom. Then drill down to Forum and then further down to Thread level. At each level the type of notification should change.

Take a look and see if this what you were looking to do.
