I found a used 4 hp mariner outboard on craigslist the other day and had to pick it up.
I have a coleman scanoe which has a transom mount and will take up to a 5 horse motor. I have had the boat for over 15 years but haven't used it as often as my kayak because it is so large and trolling motors only get you so far so fast.
I can't wait to get out on the water with it. I was so excited to hear it run I filled a bucket with water and started it up inside. Then I had to clean up a little bit of water.
The Coleman Scanoe is definately coming along on vacation from here on out. I can't help thinking of all the extra fishing spots I'll be able to get to in a days time. There are lots of places I know about that are hard to get to with a larger boat or take a half day of paddling in a kayak. Next year should be full of adventure...this Monday will be as well.
I actually found a video on youtube of the same exact model outboard, the one I bought is in almost perfect condition though.
