I'm right handed but taught myself to cast lefty a while back (I had a shoulder injury and FFed lefty for an entire season). I do okay at a limited distance but never completely got the hang of double hauling lefty therefore I mostly cast with my left hand on trout streams rather than on a boat or big water where casting distance is needed. Anyway, fishing your backcast is a lot easier to learn than casting on your nondominant side. I comes in handy in situations where the wind is not in your favor or obstructions limit you from a conventional cast. Give it a try.
