Pleasant Stream - Tributary to Lycoming Creek. Where to park?

I took route 14 and turned right on Pleasant Stream road. The entire road is posted with cabins (Pleasant Stream is on the right). I drove the road until it came to the part where vehicles are not allowed, but there is no parking area at that spot and there is a cabin there and I did not want to park on their property.

Did I miss a section of this stream that is not posted?

How does anyone (from the public, not a cabin owner) fish this stream?

Not looking for honey holes or secret spots. I am willing to put in the walk and hike back if needed. But there is literally nowhere to park.

Thanks for any help, maybe I missed a parking spot but I drove slowly and did not see a spot on the way in or on the drive out.

Dear PaScoGi,

I usually come in from Hillsgrove and go up Elk Creek Rd and take Pleasant Stream Rd down to Masten which really isn't a town anymore but its where the NB of Pleasant Stream comes in. It's been a few years since I've been there. I know that area had a number of flash floods that severely damaged Pleasant Stream Rd. I used to be able to drive all the way down to Rte 14 with no issues coming in from Hillsgrove, and there used to be a number of pull-offs and even a few parking areas along the road.

Tim Murphy 🙂

Thanks, I will try that route. Much appreciated!

You missed the new road that you would have turned left on, its higher up the mountain out of the floodplain and takes you to masten. There is lots of water to fish if you desire to.

What the others have said. Come in from the upstream end. Park at Masten. Huge lot and a trailhead for the Old Loggers Path hiking trail (OLP). Hike/fish up or downstream on public land for miles.

Note - A good portion of that stream went bone dry a few Summers ago. I have pics from a fellow forum member who hiked OLP in the Fall of that year. Was crazy a watershed that size went totally dry. I had fished it earlier that Spring (this was 2020, I think), and it had fished well. Haven’t fished it since, but have fished a few of its neighbors since then that presumably were under similar drought conditions that year and done poorly. FWIW.

Thanks all. was traveling north to new york & didnt have time to explore those options but will next time i pass through
