Had the opportunity to travel out west for some fishing in July with a group of guys I know from North Carolina. They have been heading out to Wyoming for the past 10+ years, but this was my first opportunity to make the trip.

We flew into Salt Lake City, then drove several hours to get to Pinedale, WY. From Pinedale we fished around that general area 7/10 thru 7/17. We floated the Green River & New Fork River, while also wade fishing many of the high mountain streams. We caught plenty of browns, brookies, and cutthroat. The water was a little high when we got to town, apparently that area had gotten more rain than normal for that time of year. The guys noticed the higher flows seemed to impact fishing, but since this was my first time I didn't have anything to gauge it on. I caught plenty of fish each day to keep me happy! Parachute Madam-X in Royal Wulff colors was the ticket most of the week for me. There were several streamer patterns that worked well also, including the JJ Special.

Here are a bunch of pictures from the trip. Enjoy!

Wow! What an awesome trip. Gorgeous country and beautiful fish. Thanks for sharing your photos with us. I just hope that at some point in my life I get an opportunity see and fish that part of our country.

They all look to be pretty hefty fish.

Looks like a great trip. I'll be in the wind river range backpacking and fishing the 2nd week of September. Thanks for posting!

Beautiful country and some beautiful trout. Those are some big brookies. Thanks for sharing your trip with us.

Nice, looks like Greys River and Horse Creek

Wonderful pictures. I haven't had the chance to fish Montana for far too long. Where were you based?

very nice.

always good to fish a new State with people who know the water.

Very nice pics. Hope to get out there someday. Glad you did well.
Those flies look familar

Was that a cutty rainbrown :-D

Very nice!

That's a gorgeous series of streams you guys hit. I want to hit Wyoming in the worst way and this isn't helping. Next season, when we scout for elk, you have me planning to bring a fly rod along.

Great photo dump, thanks for sharing... I need to plan another trip out west!
