Haha that is exactly the spot. and it surprised the hell out of me. Went down there because it looked like a good spot to get some casting room and it appeared to be a nice shelf as well.
Northern pike - and a nice one!
Northerns are rare to non-existent in the lower Susky (I've never seen one down here) but my understanding is they're pretty common up in the North Branch.
As all have said before it is a northern.
Note the distinct spotted patterning. Muskies have washed out stripes. Also muskie fins are reddish in color and lack any markings.
