I joined a local rod and gun club that has a pond stocked with bass and sunnies.
What would be a few good flies to tie to catch some sunnies with my grandkids?
Thanks

I don’t know how easy these are to tie but they are some of my favorite to use with my kids since they float so well and are easy to see. You can’t beat top water action in my opinion!

Tie up a big elk hair caddis.
Floats well and easy to tie (dubbing and deer/elk hair). No need for bells and whistles for panfish.

Many 'gill patterns that I have tied have a couple things in common - foam, rubber/silicone leg material, bead chain, and chenille.
Here are some:

If you are looking for big 'gills tie in size 6, for action tie in size 8-10.

Hope you all have fun!

Thanks guys for all the different flies to try. There are a lot of good patterns here to keep me busy this winter.
