I have the 5wt setup. Love it for my ponds in my yard and the occasional trip up to little lehigh.

Have caught my fair share of fish with it. Just broke the rod tip and sent it back to get it fixed. Yes I had to pay the $30 to get it fixed, but am okay with it as a back-up or for my daughters to use.

Would recommend it.

The 8 wt just arrived, and so far I love it. It casts really smooth and the reel is a beast. It is made out of "composite material", so plastic. But it is a very sturdy reel and has a great drag system on it(found out it has the same drag system as the clearwater reel). I bought the rod for salmon and steelhead, and I believe the reel will have no problem. I caught around a 4lb large mouth on the rod the day it came, and it handled the fish like a charm even in the thickest pond muck. The rod is great for a beginner or anyone who doesn't want to spend too much.

Caught this the other night with the 5wt on my big pond.

I have the 5wt and it does just fine for most of my trout fishing.
