I bought an Orvis bonefish taper WF6F on clearance at my local fly shop last winter. Does anyone have input on using this line for freshwater? I would think it shouldn't be a problem but maybe it is made special for some reason that wouldn't translate well into casting dry fly's and and or nymphing. Any input would be appreciated.

Not 100% sure but I would bet that flyline is designed to give peak performance in VERY hot conditions. It might not work very well in cold water. That's just my guess.

Hot weather line for tropic conditions like the Keys. GG

I use one for topwater LMB out of my float tube July through September. Excellent taper for turning over big flies.

Thank You for the info. Looks like I need a new 6 wt. line for cold water.
