Today I was given a reel. It is an old HI reel. The line is all tangled up. I want to take it apart, get it straightened out, and maybe try it once before I forget it forever. It doesn't have a model number or any other markings that I can see other than H-I Utica NY.
I'm assuming it has springs to make it pick up line and I'm afraid if I just start pulling it apart it may fly all over the room in a 100 pieces.
Do I just pull the screws on the outside edge?
I also received a Perrine 60 box. I'm not sure why but I really like the Perrine boxes. It was a good day.
