I was wondering about two things.
The first was of a good slate drake pattern for the little j. The simpler the better.

The second was if there is a way to make your size 22 trico spinners more visible or does one simply have to suck it up and visualize where your fly is.

I tie a simple all gray pattern for the slate drake

tails - gray microfibbets or hackle fiber
wings - dark gray turkey flat
body - muskrat dubbing
hackle - dark dun

For the trico, I use sparkly antron for the wings- this was just discussed recently here.
You can also use krystal flash, but it's just a little stiff IMO.

Fish the Trico in tandem with an ant or beetle.

I make a post of chartreuse calf body hair.

Has anyone tied/fished the double or triple wing trico patterns? Any luck with them?

I used double wing patterns on the bighorn and missouri rivers. The hatch was very heavy there, and the spinners just really blanketed the water. And I caught a few fish on them - but can't really say that they were a lot more effective than single wing patterns.
Never really felt the need to try them in PA

need help seeing your trike on the water,,i use a tiny ball ( about the size of a BB of biostrike about 6 inches from the fly, see a rise near the pink dot set the hook, works like a charm
