I was out fishing on a small stream today, turned over a rock, and found this guy:

The picture's not great, but you can see it's got some really strong looking legs, broad thorax, and kind of a skinny abdomen. Here it is next to my finger for a size reference:

I'd guess it's about a size 12 or maybe a size 10. Funny thing about finding it was that I had actually started tying a size 12 pheasant tail nymph before I left. When I got back I decided to add some legs to more closely imitate this bug specifically:

I am guessing that it's maybe a march brown nymph? Really just a guess though. I didn't think that the shape of the body looked quite right for a stonefly, but I really don't know my bugs that well.
 
March Brown is a good guess.

I suck at identifying nymphs. All I can say is that it's a clinger type. MB is a good guess.
 
It's always a good idea to look at the underside of the bug whether it's a nymph or dun. only then can you really imitate the bug.
