No Match to Hatch by Rich Osthoff - I got this early this week (Amazon.com) and had a chance to read some sections and browse through others. It's a good little book covering a lot of situations when you don't (or won't) see fish rising. Some of it I knew or have seen before in other books, some was new to me. It has a very readable style.

thats a great idea for a book -- im gonna have to look this one up

Another great book that deals with the same subject is "Propecting for Trout" by Tom Rosenbauer. You can't go wrong with this book. Tons of great info and insights.

seems like tom rosenbauer is a cant miss fly fish author, no?

Yes. All the books and articles I've read by him have been valuable.........very close to "can't miss".

I read No Hatch to Match a couple of years ago, and I thought it was well done. I bought his other book, "Active Nymphing," and if I can figure out how to try a number of his techniques, even I at my advanced age ought to be able to catch a few more trout than I do now.
Both books are well worth the money.
