I don't use strike indicators that much since I tightline nymph in most situations or use a dry dropper.
But in situations when an indy is needed, a New Zealand strike indicator system works very well.
It's easy to adjust for depth while a dry dropper rig is not. Plus the NZ rig and it can be left bulky for visibility at distance and/or in rough water situations or it trimmed down to be unobtrusive for low and clear water conditions on the stream.
