I see that Cabela's has a few new series of rods called the Rogue and the Vector and they use GIII and GII "technology" and are priced pretty decent. The graphics and the descriptions indicate they could be a Sage build or a darn good mimic. Not sure if they are made here but has anyone actually felt one in hand? Thanks.

They are nice looking rods and probably just fine in every regard. However, I doubt they are built by Sage.

Most telling, I think, is that these are Cabala's most expensive, tricked out self-branded rods and they are all still less expensive than the entry level Sage rods. Particularly true of the Vector. It's virtually impossible to get an American made fly rod for under $200 nowadays, even the least expensive St. Croix rods are over $200 for made in the USA. The Vector is only $180 and all the others from Cabelas are under $300. Also, there is no indication of country of origin which is usually a bad sign if your are looking to by American.

I just bought a Vector. They are made in Korea.
