Hello,

I am new here to this site and searched the forums looking for a local person who can repair my Bamboo Fly Rod. I didn't find anything. I got this rod for Christmas and used it for the first time last weekend on the Neshanock. I didn't even catch a fish on it and the eye is coming off and unwrapped. :( . So I am looking for someone to repair this for me, hopefully not too far from Irwin/Westmoreland Co.

I am hoping someone here can provide me with a name and number of someone. Or maybe steer me in the right direction?

regards,

judy

I'm not sure who may be available in your area. Many times someone who is a rod maker doesn't necessarily wish to do repairs. Wrapping an eye however should be pretty straight forward. They just need to take care to match the threads, size/color, after they touch it up with varnish. One place to start would be to go here and ask your question.

Also remember it’s not unusual to ship your rod for repairs. I do it often. Just be careful how you pack it. PM me if you need some advice on this. Good Luck and let us know how you make out.

Hi Judy - This guy should be able to do the job, and his workmanship is flawless.

I recently sent a friend to him to repair a ferrule, and my fried was thrilled with the repair, and the very reasonable cost.
