This fly is based on Dale's Caddis Pupa, from the Spring '07 issue of Fly Tyer. I think it needs a new name, as almost all of the materials have been modified and "Ian's Dale's Caddis Pupa" is inelegant.

Hook: Daiichi 1130.

Thread: Tan 6/0 Uni.

Abdomen: Olive Goose Biot.

Rib: Dun CDC.

Wing Buds: Cut Brown Hen Hackle Tips.

Thorax: Peacock herl.

Thorax Case: Olive Goose Biot.

Antenae: Mallard Flank, split by Thorax Case.

Head: Thread, colored black w/Sharpie.

I haven't had a chance to fish it yet. I'll report if I have any success.

I like Soopa-Pupa.

nice looking fly, at least for the angler. i also like the name, but if it doesnt work how about the poop-pupa :-D

I fished the original on the Genesee in Pa and the Otselic in New York and did pretty well on it. Had some twisting issues at first, but cut a little bend out of the hook and the problem was solved.

All this name calling and the only thing that comes to my mind (and makes me laugh) is the Koopa-Pupa
