I went exploring today and found what I believe to be a stream that has A LOT A of potential. I headed to this creek because we just got good rain and I thought the flows would be good. They were, but I only hooked one trout (a brown, I believe) and landed one small brown. The habitat, though, my, my, the habitat. Pocket water and drop offs and nearly a good trout holding spot everywhere I looked. I went early, however, and it was cold back in the mountains with snow on the ground. I can't wait to see what I turn up here in a few weeks as spring progresses and I make the drive to explore it more.
I fished lots of nymphs in all the likely spots but...... both browns ate a Pat's rubber legs. The first fish I thought was a snag after fishing for so long with nothing. I love it when you explore somewhere new and it exceeds your expectations.
