This is really interesting study on brook trout from rison, Johnson, green, and gates.
I really think Michigan stands alone in terms of protection and propagation of brook trout.
Connor Cook told me personally he regularly catches 14 inch brook trout in many interconnected river systems that have imposed regulations to sterilize and or eradicate invasives such as the round nose goby, emerald shiner, and cutthroat trout.

Differences in sexual maturity and fall emigration between diploid and triploid brook trout (Salvelinus fontinalis) in an Adirondack lake
High levels of emigration coincident with maturity and spawning have been reported from brook trout (Salvelinus fontinalis) populations in Adirondack lakes.
