I was sitting around the house tossing my cats fur mouse toy across the room when I had an epiphany. Those fur cat toy mice are light, realistic, cheap...but do they float? Ran to the fish tank and bombs away. Yep, they float alright. Now whats the best way to attach a hook? Has anyone ever tried this before. If so, do they work. How would you go about attaching the hook? Just wanted some opinions before I tried to make one.

I know some of those toy mice are made with cork, so that would be ideal.

I personally would drive a large needle through the body and then zap a gap the mouse on the shank.

With some materials you may need to heat the needle so it slides through nicely.
