I don't fish the Conewago very often. Once every year or two. Definitely not my favorite stream, but this time of year with approved trout waters closed, it makes the short list. I know it's a stocked fishery (fly zone) and I've had some success on basic attractors like standard nymphs (Prince, GRHE, CJ, etc) and eggs and squirmies, green weenies. The standard stockie magnets. Just wondering if anyone has any particular hatch knowledge or favorite patterns specific to this stream? TYIA

hatches of the classic early season fly hatches. Quill Gordons (Eperous sp.), Hendricksons (Ephemerella subvaria) and Blue Quills (Paraleptophlebia sp.)

It's not a great stream if you're a hatch matcher, especially this time of year. It does get a few of the usual bugs here and there, including a decent March Brown later in the spring. As the stream warms, the fish eat a lot of crayfish.
