I see you like divided tails
I put them on all my mayfly imitations.
Besides liking how they look, I think they help the fly ride better

What is your preferred method for splitting tails?

I kind of think it helps balance it from tipping over because of the wings but just a shuck may work too

I make a little ball of thread or dubbing at the end of the hook shank above the barb
Then tie micro fibbets in - one side at a time - with tight wraps against that ball to vee them out

I take a piece of thread double it over the back of the hook slide the loop forward till I get the angle I like then wrap my tying thread over it to hold it all in place
