Maryland Freshwater Fisheries defines Western II as Washington and Frederick Counties, and both have some limestone influenced streams. Wash Co is known to have limestone streams, but Frederick isn't too known. I will be sharing these streams because
1. DNR has already confirmed extirpation in these streams
2. They have very low to non existent populations
3. Hopefully someone seeing these threads can help them.
First one I'd like to talk about is Glade Creek. Glade creek is a spring creek and had brownies at one point, but were erradicated due to lack of ripparian cover and sediment. If you look at the creek from google maps, you can clearly see the sandy bottom and street view makes it even more obvious, you can also see barely any trees on its banks. It truly is a shame because according to this document on springs in MD(http://www.mgs.md.gov/reports/RI_42.pdf), the spring (fountain rock spring), discharges 1000+ gallons of 12 degree celcius water EACH minute... It's crazy that even with that amount of cold water, we still somehow managed to wipe trout out... And guess what, no one batted an eye.

Feel free to add any new information on here, we can't really do much, but hopefully someone who can change this looks at this and takes action. This isn't just a problem in MD either, throught the US, spring creeks are threatened by siltation and warming.

Contacting the Trout Unlimited chapter closest to the stream would be a good place to start. You're probably 75 to 90 miles from the organization's national headquarters. If TU can fix streams in Wisconsin, it should be able to lend a hand locally.
