I received the info below in an e-mail from Pete Goodman, the President of Valley Forge TU. All those interested may want to attend:
OPEN LAND CONSERVANCY
Of Chester County
Invites you to its 72nd Annual Meeting
Thursday March 24th, 2011 at 8:00 pm
At the Great Valley Presbyterian Church
On Swedesford Road, North of Paoli
Featuring
Marcellus Shale Drilling:
What Is The Impact?
We have all heard a lot about the Marcellus Shale drilling in parts of Pennsylvania, New York, and West Virginia. Since our area does not appear to be directly impacted, how much do we really know about it? How will it impact the environment and the economy? And closer to home, how could it impact the Great Valley area?
David Sewak is Trout Unlimited’s Pennsylvania Marcellus Shale Field Organizer, a project dedicated to educate the commonwealth’s sportsmen and women about the impact of the
drilling activity.
David will review the drilling process itself: the site preparation, what happens underground, and the water needed for the activity. He’ll share with us a broad view of the potential drilling sites, and its impact on the watershed and forests.
Come to this important meeting where you can hear firsthand from someone very close to the topic, and ask questions about the issues that will impact the state and the Great Valley area.
For more information please call 610 647-5380.
Refreshments will be served following the program. The public is welcome.
