Lost fish ?

Over the past 10 days or so, I've hooked up four stocked rainbows in the 13-15" size range, and only netted one. The other three were played out to the point where I was starting to bring them to the net when I lost them. They all seemed as if the hook just tore out of their mouths. Three different days, three different flies.

I had very little of this last year, but only hooked up 4 or 5 fish over 12". Is the bad luck just catching up with me or should I be doing something different, like thring to get them in quicker?

You used the words'"played out". Maybe you're letting them have too much play and taking too long. Bringing them in quicker keeping pressure in the line might help. Keep that tip UP.
