Looking for ideas

While I am visiting home next week, I plan to fish a few days. Besides a few DH areas, Allegheny County is a bust this time of year and I prefer wild streams.

I am looking for some water to explore in and around Ligonier. I am familiar with Loyalahanna and Linn Run. Looking for alternatives. Go to PM if youre willing to help out. I'll gladly reciprocate if you are ever in NC or SW VA.

Almost all the streams in that area hold some sort of wild/native trout. Find some public land (gamelands, state forest, state park, ect) and give it a go. The warming trend in the weather the next few days looks good so the fish should be active.

You could try the Forbes State Forest, there are plenty of wild trout streams there.

I think I might have hit some of that before. Last November I was in that area. I have no idea what the stream was. I was catching plenty of 3-5" brookies in a stream so small, I initially doubted it held fish.
