I just started tying with LL's a few weeks ago and for most of my mayfly nymphs I cut off the third set but for stones I like to use all 3. One thing I'm noticing is that the size marked on the LL's packs seem to be bigger than they should be for said fly. I tied up a size 12 golden last night and used size 16 LL's and it really seems more size appropriate. Does anybody else size down?

Sorry if this question was already out there but like I said I just started using them and may have never paid attention before.

Yes I downsize one size on the lively legz. I also often cut the third set off. As to whether I cut the front or back pair depends on what type of nymph it is.

They look cool but I don't think id ever use them since they will slow the sink rate of your fly down and I want all my nymphs to sink like a rock .
