Anyone fly fish lakes?
What are good subsurface patterns or what hatches from lakes here in pa that I can tie?

Want subsurface Patterns.

Not looking for streamer type.
I tried doing some searching without any luck don't see real big here. I know we have chironomids.. other that that? Thansk

I've had surprisingly good dry fly fishing right where a stream comes into the back of lakes.
I've seen every bug that hatches on the stream, come off in the lake - even quite a distance away from the mouth.

picket pin and zug bug...anything that resembles a dragon fly nymph.

Thanks guys. I do know areas where streams come in with decent flow.
I forgot about dragon flys. I'll check some patterns thanks

hexagenia nymphs and emergers also

Every evening in probably every lake in Pa there is a mass vertical migration of phantom midges.

Damselfly larva size 6-12 will produce on just about any still water in my experience.
