Nice looking stone fly. Real nice preportions. I like to fish stones. I had my tying class do a very simple but effective pattern last week.

i dont ever fish any streams that offer stonflies that big. i kind of wish i did so i would have a reason to tie some. great looking tie sandfly.

What color is the underside (naturals) of the abdomen and thorax?

You would be suprised what its your streams. This was found on a stream no wider than 6'.
Outsider,
Dirty yellow in color.
(for measurements I generally use a size 12 hook for comparison) but for this one its a size 8

Why waste the time tying a fly...just put that thing on the hook!
