jersey spring fishing

Went down last night with my buddy. Was down is south jersey. The ac area. Fished the surf with bait within seconds got slammed by a gator. My buddy got a short a little later on. All on clams. Then we moved to the jetties. Fished there for about an hour. Brought the long rod out. People were catching left and right. Pretty much all shorts but did manage two shorts. Then had to make a call to the game warden cause some non English speaking guys were keeping short fish. Probably saw them take five fish under 20 inches. Left once I made the call.
fish are there water is still a little cold but bass and big blues have invaded south jersey.

Went down to LBI fished the inlet two days. pretty great day. Sat it was gators for an hour then Saturday same thing but it was all day. Fish were 8 to 15 pounds. My brother pulled a 20 pounder and a spoon.

Wow - some big bluefish!

Wish I coulda been there. It's been too long since I've hit the NJ shore.
