There are still a few good hatches, and when there are no bugs on top, the trout are scouring the bottom to get in shape for autumn and the spawn.
And there’s enough light to fish (and tie knots) until 9 p.m.
If you are lucky like me, you can sneak in an few hours on the water after work and still be well rested for the next day in the office.
Did it on Wednesday at Big Gunpowder, and planning to do it again at least once this week coming.
