I've decided to give tying a try .. anyone out there with a vise they are looking to part with?

I'm not looking for something top of the line, just getting my feet wet to see where it leads me.

Thanks!

Do you have a field and stream nearby? They have entry-level vises that work just fine for in the $20-50 range

The "Devil's Trading\Sales Post" has had a broad price range of some decent old (hopefully usable) vises recently. Don't be afraid of Thompsons,Herters, TackLTyers, and Sunrise brands. As long as the jaws tighten well you should be on your way. The vintage/antique brands usually had good hard forged jaws compared to some trashy imports. Good hook holding ability will cut down on the beginners frustration level. Plus, if it does'nt work out for you, resale will be better. LOL! Best of luck & Merry Christmas.
