The drop in the price of natural gas may make it hard for them to make money. But the drop in price came about because of the increase of supply of natural gas from shale gas.

Range Resources is a big player in Marcellus. They are not profitable, or close. Whether they will be in the future, I don't know. You can check their numbers here:

It depends. Apple has zero debt and 28.4 billion in cash.
