I have a new to me rod as described above. I plan to put an intermediate sinking line on the spare spool of the 1494 DA Pflueger Medalist I'm going to use on that pole.

I looked @ Cabelas and they say something about their lines being 1/2 size larger to take advantage of graphite rods.

Should I be concerned about that? What line would you recommend?

Man, had I known fly fishing was so complicated I'd have taken up home brain surgery...

If you really want to keep things simple, don't buy a sinking line, just fish with a floating line.

You can use sinking tips rather than a sinking line, it may fit you glass rod better unless you can find a line suited to a glass rod. I checked Cabelas, they have sinking tips. they are much cheaper than an entire line, plus allows double duty of a weight forward line. On the spare spool I'd go with a full sinking line, for lakes and heavy water. Where do you plan on using the line you're interested in?
