Even though the 17 stories in the book are not truly fly-fishing stories but have strong fly-fishing components, "In Hemingway's Meadow" is a wonderful book. The stories are ones that either won or that were finalists in FR&R's Traver Writing Contest, mostly fiction, since 1994. This is a wonderful book of modern tales, containing much of the angst of modern society. Fly-fishing does much to assuage this angst. If you tire of the endless how-to/where-to stuff, this is a fine book to read by the fireside during cold winter nights. I strongly recommend this one!
(And, you guys say I never say anything nice about anyone or anything!)
Happy New Year, and good reading.

Hi.

I like Richard Chiappone's story in the collection a lot. He has a good one in the anthology City Fishing, too, which was published by Stackpole Books.

Good stuff . . .
