That's sweet. Great idea.

I'll have to wait for the IKEA version though.

Look at these options and then add a cabinet of your choice later?

Rod Rack 1

Rod Rack 2

There are also similar products with drawers included but none that seemed to be rod tube friendly.

Fred - Check these out. Not much more money-wise, and they're nice furniture...

On second thought strike my post. I like the looks of the rod racks that HA posted. Those are beautiful!

It'd be nice to have something like that, but $260 buys alot of.. well, I dunno, whatever junk I'm into now.

Dremels, dice, PBR, and a payment toward that new KORG? We all play synth!!

Man, you read my mind!

BTW, if there is sincere interest in stuff like this and there are multiples of the same item I can have them made in pretty much any wood you desire. I showed these to a guy that works for me who bought most of my woodworking equipment when I moved. He would produce these items at similar costs but the level of customization is pretty much endless.

And as a woodworker, I have to vomit at the original picture that Fredrick posted. They put THAT MDF and laminate piece of crap at $270 in front of that incredible quarter sewn white oak panel wall? You guys want an IKEA version? That IS an IKEA version.

I think we were more interested int eh IKEA price, and the Swedish Meatballs.

I wish I had some woodworking equipment. I missed having access to a shop. I used to be able to build such nice stuff.

Its uncanny how absolutely dead on you are.

My job gives me "award points," I have absolutely nothing in the store I want, but there's a neat little Korg doohicky. When I was about 16, I'd have killed for this thing. I'll never actually use it, but then again, its not like I'm paying for it.

No, thanks to this thread, I'm now looking at Gerstner USA boxes.

KORG? Go Moog!

I've always wanted a real Moog. Like a real one, like a 55, not a Mini or any of the crap that's made now.. Something with wood cabinets and patch cords.

Add camera gear, beads, skulls, and anything Max Hardcore.

I haven't engaged in true camera gear hoarding since I was forced to give up film.

And I like porn, but I find Max Hardcore utterly repugnant and don't understand the mindset.

I also know that I've got more posts to read in this thread, and respond to, and as much as I crave the constant attention how do these always get to be about me?

I'd like a knock-off Gerstner box, please. I don't know what this means, but I know after reading for the last 45 minutes it needs to be oak and quarter-sawn, not veneer and ply.

Crazy over rated and obviously over priced.

Truth on the latter no idea on the former; a Gerstner International will set me back a fraction of a USA model, and a "vintage" (read abused) Union Steel box on ebay is even less.

I'm giving some real serious eyeballing to the ebay ones.

What if you own more than 12 rods ??? Guess I'll have to build something after we build the new shop..

I have a couple rod racks.

One is a store bought cheapy from Cabelas.

The other is an old gun rack that has a locking draw (skeleton key) that I keep reel spools and other stuff in.
